All the Feelings in the Room

  • Examine the faces, open the flaps and discover a room full of feelings! This playful lift-the-flap book introduces very young children to empathy and the rich world of feelings, showing, through a simple story, how many different emotions can exist in the same room at the same time.

Each spread invites readers to ask, ‘What is this character feeling today?’ An expressive face hides a surprise flap, waiting to be opened. Lift it to reveal the answer: Almais happy because it’s her birthday; Daisy feels stressed because she’s late for the party; Fatima is shy because she doesn’t know anyone; and Malik is worried because he can’t find his teddy.

As a birthday party unfolds, clear and expressive illustrations guide young readers through moments of excitement, uncertainty, and joy. Children are encouraged to explore facial expressions, recognise emotions and put feelings into words.

    • Interactive lift-the-flap storytelling encourages active engagement and makes exploring emotions playful and memorable for very young readers.

    • Builds emotional literacy and empathy by showing that different people can feel different things at the same time, helping children recognise and understand emotions inthemselves and others.

    • Supports early language and social development through clear facial expressions, simple text, and conversation starting questions ideal for sharing with adults.
