Grandma Z
On an ordinary day, in an even more ordinary town, it was Albert’s birthday.
When Grandma Z roars into town on her motorcycle, Albert is swept up in a very extraordinary adventure.
This glorious debut from Daniel Gray-Barnett is filled with wonder, imagination, and a wild, magical spirit that will thrill young and old.

IN THE MEDIA
"Grandma Z celebrates the power of vivid imagination, and the illustrations are absolutely spectacular, with bold colours and strong brushstrokes that convey a magical world. The burnt orange hue that is used throughout the book feels retro, but coupled with the ultra-modern Grandma Z and her groovy motorcycle, it becomes utterly of the zeitgeist. Daniel Gray-Barnett [...] has created something entirely unique that is both readable and a visual feast."—Angela Crocombe, Books+Publishing
THE AUTHOR
Daniel Gray-Barnett is an illustrator and author from the Huon Valley in Lutruwita/Tasmania. He likes to think of himself as someone who was put on this planet to tell a few stories before he turns into a grumpy old man. He’s worked with clients including Disney, Kiehl’s, Sydney Opera House, and The New York Times. His first picture book, Grandma Z, won a Children’s Book Council of Australia award
for Best New Illustrator. When he’s not in the studio, he can be found daydreaming in the garden with his son and husband, German pointers, and chickens.
