Leon's Letter

  • A stylish and fanciful search and find story celebrating inventiveness and multicultural friendships!

A mysterious letter is sent to nine extraordinary houses (in a tree, in ice, in space, underground, in a palace…) The child must search in each of them where the letter might be.

This quest is a pretext to explore the incredible interiors of these habitats, full of whimsical details: a pink flamingo washes its feet, a grandmother plays the trumpet, a robot combs its hair, a penguin thaws a banana with a hair-dryer…

But what is the content of this letter? The last spread reveals that all these recipients, from different parts of the world, were invited to the same joyful party!

    IN THE MEDIA

"A great wacky seek and find book! It's fun, with a multitude of details, each more amusing than the last. It's a book for ages 3 and up, since it's a seek-and-find, but I'm sure older kids will enjoy playing along as well. [...] The illustrations are rich and original, colorful, and they immerse us in multiple worlds." RCF (France & Belgium)

"The reader is immersed in a fun, colorful world. The illustrations are large enough to allow even the youngest to find the fun details hidden in these amazing houses." La Cliothèque

"Magali Attiogbé's work always allows us to travel. In Leon's Letter, with a single album, the illustrator allows us to take a world tour and especially a journey through our imaginations in just 30 pages. Following the postmen and women, we travel from one house to another and discover worlds (...) Each double page invites readers to, on the one hand, find the letter and its recipient, but also to look for (and find) animals, objects, or characters. Each new page allows us to delve into these strange dwellings in detail and discover sketches full of life and fantasy." — La Mare aux Mots

"A joyful and inventive album, which also tells us that letters are still a good way of forging links with the people you love. A real original search and find" Le café pédagogique

"Not to be missed: the placid-looking koala clinging to the tall palm tree on the house-boat, and right next to it, the shark chef. Once again, Magali Attiogbé’s colourful, stylised illustrations are a real delight."   — La Revue des livres pour enfants
