The Big Nasty Disaster

  • Ding dong, one day, The Big Nasty Disaster, a half hairy, half witch creature, knocked on our door. It settled into our sofa, and we had to live with it.

Through the voice of the heroine, the reader discovers her mother's reactions to the Big Nasty Disaster, and the way the child experiences this upheaval. Little by Little, The Big Nasty Disaster buries in its big bag everything they used to enjoy in their house and lives. Then, Hope appears.

Thanks to the narrator and his mother's care, this fragile little being grows stronger and drives the Big Nasty Disaster away. Afterwards, the disorder it caused gradually fades, without completely disappearing.

A subtle story to deal with traumatic experiences someone can face: illness, grief… without minimizing the pain, the Big Nasty Disaster embodies any kind of catastrophe in a clever, subtle and hopeful metaphor.
