The Garland
From their flat, Carmen and her cat peacefully begin a long journey through the winter. “I need a garland,” thinks the little lady. “A garland to brighten my days.” The glowing light will unveil memories of the past and rekindle the small, slumbering flame within her.
Once installed and lit, the glowing string brings back all of Carmen’s forgotten memories — sunsets, boat cruises, bicycle rides… Remnants, pinned to the wall, bearing witness to a happy past life.
Then, quite suddenly, the little lady realises that there are still a few metres left — still a little space left on her wall…This is the story of a little light — the one that lives inside each of us. With warm illustrations that play with shadow, light, and colour, it is a gentle and hopeful tale of a new beginning.
