The King of the Moon and Cousin Pluto

  • Catastrophe! The King of the Moon has had all his toys stolen. In his cave, a small letter reveals the culprit: his cousin Pluto.

To obtain compensation, the King of the Moon calls on his friends from Earth… promising them a birthday party on Pluto in return. A little wary, Rose, Anathilde, Émile and Philémon board his rocket, bringing little Isidore along with them.

The journey does not go quite as planned, and the little group, after a forced landing, will discover the mysteries of the Plutonian planet, its strange inhabitants — the Pluks — and will meet Cousin Pluto.

After The King of the Moon and The King of the Moon and the Barmy Robot, novelist Bérengère Cournut and Donatien Mary return, for a third volume, to the characters of this family adventure. As usual, it deals with presents, jealous cousins and, as ever, a somewhat irritating King of the Moon.

    THE AUTHORS

Bérengère Cournut is an acclaimed French writer. Her first books mainly explored dreamlike territories. Since 2011, she regularly collaborates with Donatien Mary to invent universes where text and images dialogue in a facetious and poetic spirit ("Palabres and Schasslamitt", Attila). In 2019 "De pierre et d'os" was published (Le Tripode) awarded by the "Prix du Roman Fnac 2019".

Donatien Mary is a prolific designer, illustrator and engraver, graduated from the Ecole des Arts décoratifs in Strasbourg in 2007. He develops through his experiments a very unique universe (sometimes filled with dinosaurs, sailors and comets). Each project is built with a different approach, with a certain predilection for all engraving practices: etchings, aquatints, wood engravings, or linos.
