We Are Nature

  • About this book

Through information about the natural world, this beautiful non-fiction book invites readers to discover something essential: humans are also nature, and nature is our teacher.

This book combines fascinating stories from the natural world with positive ideas about cooperation, empathy, community, and care for the planet.

Discover a forest that communicates underground, bees that sustain life through pollination, elephants that care for their community, and octopuses that display remarkable intelligence.

A book that fosters curiosity, respect, and connection with nature. Because we are not in nature. We are nature, and just like other fellow species, natural elements and processes, we are: a network, symbiosis, community, flow, transformation, gift, pollinators, hope, empathy, communication, cooperation, a cycle, creativity, sensory, intelligence, play, refuge, care, regeneration, balance, compassion, solidarity, reciprocity.

    THE ILLUSTRATOR

Patricia Pessoa is a Brazilian illustrator based in the west of England. Her work is strongly inspired by nature and naive art, and it's full of texture and brushstrokes. Although she’s been working with digital
illustration for years, Patricia finds true joy in the unpredictability of traditional media.
Patricia is currently enrolled at Cambridge School of Art for an MA in Children's Book Illustration. Recent clients include Penguin Random House, Harper Collins, and Magic Cat Publishing.
