One Little Twig at a Time

  • A joyful picture book, written like a poem, celebrating perseverance and resilience.

Little by little, the bird builds its nest. It doubles its efforts. But just as it completes its work, the wind blows, the cat strikes, and the rain falls. So the bird starts again, and with each challenge, the nest grows stronger, reinforced with boxwood and mistletoe twigs. Is it finished this time? Really? Not so sure…

For the rain may return, the wind may blow again, and the cat and dog may prowl… after all, that’s life!

This picture book celebrates work that is constantly renewed and improved by a little bird who never lowers its wings. The text, rhythmic and rhyming like a nursery rhyme, plays with repetition and accumulation for the delight of very young listeners.
