service… and absolute mayhem.

 

When best friends Vex and Bo arrive, the Bug Hotel looks like the holiday of a lifetime: bellhops in tiny hats, a glittering lobby, celebrity guests on the rooftop helipad… even a Termite Queen being carried to check-in on a royal litter.

What could possibly go wrong?

Everything.

Room numbers make no sense. Their luggage vanishes. Termite toddlers are chewing through the hotel faster than the ants can fix it, an aging moth actress mistakes them for admirers and dinner comes with a dress code they definitely can’t meet.

Meanwhile, something shady is going on behind the scenes. In this hotel, the service is buzzing… and survival is not guaranteed.

THE AUTHOR

Ziggy Hanaor is a writer and publisher living in London. She is the author of critically acclaimed graphic novels including Alte Zachen (Shortlisted for the Yoto Carnegie Medal for Illustration 2023), The Egg Incident (2024 BRAW AMAZING BOOKSHELF), Everything Amplified and Shushu.

THE ILLUSTRATOR

 

Ollie Silvester is based in Bristol, UK. Ollie spends most of his time drawing at his desk in The Island studios. He takes inspiration from the mundane and the moments in-between moments. He is always trying to document the humour that is found in the everyday, the colour within the seemingly drab, the noise within the quiet and the quiet within the noise. At Cicada he has already illustrated picture book Gory Rory Fangface Needs a Kiss.
